UNC Asheville is situated near Asheville, North Carolina's downtown, known for eclectic eateries, shopping and galleries. Additionally, UNCA is within walking distance to most of Jewish Asheville's institutions and neighborhoods.

Jewish Asheville has an estimated 1,300 Jewish families, two synagogues, a Jewish Community Center, a community Jewish day school, a Chabad Center, Academic Centers of  Jewish Studies and Diversity, an active Hadassah chapter, a Jewish Business Forum, Jewish Family Services, BBYO Youth Program, a strong federation and a sister Hillel organization at UNC Asheville.
