NC Hillel's Statewide Programs Grants supports and stimulates new and existing student-initiated projects that enhance Jewish life on college campuses throughout North Carolina. Funds will be allocated to encourage creative programs that engage Jewish students, facilitate a sense of community, and create enriching and meaningful Jewish experiences.

Funding is not available for all proposals; however, grant proposals may be awarded partial funding. Money will be awarded on a reimbursement basis following completion of:

  • The project itself
  • Program Evaluation Report
  • Submission of receipts and/or nvoices to the Director of Statewide Programs
  • Submission of attendance list and email addresses of participants (on evaluation form)

In special cases, North Carolina Hillel may be able to advance money for projects. Contact Geoff for more information.

In addition to funding from NC Hillel, money may be available for your project from various agencies:

  • Office of Student Life at your school
  • Other student organizations
  • Academic departments
  • Local Jewish Federation and synagogues
  • Your hometown rabbi

All flyers, newspaper articles, brochures, and other publicity must accompany the program evaluation. Each must visibly have the NC Hillel logo. Please remember to take photos at your event!

Applications must be submitted at least 10 business days before the date of the program. Do not assume you will be receiving any funding prior to approval. No programs will be funded retroactively. Grants will be judged on the content and quality of the application; clarification or additional information may be requested.

We recommend reviewing the Completed Sample Grant Application and printing a blank copy of the application or evaluation before submitting. Type your responses into a word processing program and then copy them into the form, as you will not be able to save it online and return to it later. Applicants will be notified of a decision by phone or e-mail.

Campuses must be affiliated and have completed documentation with Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life in order to receive funding from North Carolina Hillel. Contact Geoff to make sure you are eligible.
