Sigma Rho Lambda

What is SRL?
Sigma Rho Lambda is Carolina’s only Jewish-interest sorority. SRL was founded at UNC in 2003, and in 2010 we joined the Greek Alliance Council (GAC). We are dedicated to providing a sisterhood for Jewish women and any women with an interest in Jewish culture. Our name, Sigma Rho Lambda, is derived from our foremothers, Sarah, Rebekah, Rachel, and Leah. Together we are committed to friendship, sisterhood, community service, and creating meaningful Jewish experiences. Our values are compassion, endurance, wisdom, and faith.

Recruitment
We have our own unique recruitment process. There are a few weeks of events in the beginning of each semester that are geared towards getting to know and engaging potential new members. These events culminate with Bid Day. The only requirements to receive a bid are that you attend at least two recruitment events, have an interest in Judaism, and that you agree to uphold our values. After Bid Day, the New Member Education process begins. For more information about recruitment, please contact our recruitment chairs.
