50 students from eight UNC campuses arrived at Greensboro’s Camp Weaver to spend Shabbat reconnecting with friends from other schools and building an intentional statewide community at our 2nd annual NC Hillel Statewide Shabbaton.

UNC Hillel hosted a special Tu B’Shevat Inclusion Seder and Shabbat that welcomed both our students and members of our Chapel Hill community with developmental disabilities.

This spring we are focused on providing students with multiple opportunities to connect with each other, building organic support systems within their peer groups, as well as continuing to work with campus administrations to best serve our students’ needs.

An opportunity for gratitude is welcome at any time, however, in this moment, I am particularly grateful for our students and you – our incredible community. Our students have struggled since the events of 10/7 to balance being college students with the rise in antisemitism nationwide and daily incidents on our many campuses, but we find strength in our Jewish communal family.
