Thank you for attending our webinar with UNC administration. Please refer to the following FAQ for additional information about the safety and well-being of our students:

  • Students can report concerns to various offices depending on the nature of the issue:

If at any time your student needs support in navigating a situation, please contact UNC Hillel.

    • Dean of Students team, for student support and referrals to campus services, assistance in balancing personal needs and academic demands, and navigating other challenges

    • Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), for both individual and group student counseling

    • Heels Care Network, including our mental health resource hub, to identify services that best fit with students’ needs

    • Student Wellness, for non-clinical student resources, skills development tools, and wellness coaching

    • Safe Walk- SafeWalk is a student-run, university-sponsored organization whose mission is to provide safe travel alternatives for UNC-Chapel Hill students at night.  If requested, a pair of trained students employed by UNC Police will walk with you to your desired destination between 10pm-2am.

  • In terms of increased security at our Hillel facility and events, we are following Hillel International, SCN (Secure Community Network, the Jewish national security organization) and ADL’s guidelines to keep the UNC Hillel building safe. We are in ongoing communication with both the University and Chapel Hill Police Departments.

  • We encourage students and faculty/staff on any UNC campus to report antisemitic incidents to their University’s title VI compliance office and their local Hillel professional (see our staff page) so that we can assist with a rapid and thorough response.

If you or someone you know has experienced antisemitism at a North Carolina university, please use this link to report it to our new Anti-Defamation League (ADL), the Brandeis Center, and the law firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP partnership. They have created a 24/7 hotline where any report will be reviewed by a pro-bono lawyer to see what action can be taken. Anyone impacted by antisemitism on campus who is seeking legal advice can submit an incident report to the CALL website or text “CALLhelp” to 51555 and receive free, 24/7 support.
